Corsage

I recently attended the wedding of a friend from my highschool days. I usually don't bring a date because I tend to busy myself documenting the event with my own camera even if I am not the official event photographer. Since I knew the event photographers this time around and wholeheartedly trust them to cover those moments, I decided to leave my camera in the car this time and actually enjoy taking a friend with as my wedding date. I decided to be "highschool" on got her this :)

I had the pleasure of finally meeting Elizabeth aka eschlabach. She gave me an autographed hardcover of her newly released photography book: And in Their Love They Answer the Call.

Elizabeth's photography has been featured on the web as well as in printed publications such as Chicago Magazine and the Chicago Reader. Her photography captures moments of her everyday life as a resident & worker in the city of Chicago, her interactions with family & loved ones, as well as discoveries from traveling all over. Although all of these images are featured in her photostream on flickr, they have a completely different feeling when seeing them in print!

She asked me what my fave 5 from the book were. It was really hard to decide but I really enjoyed:

A fool and his bike are soon parted
Road in fog
Hot late afternoon
Hello Winter
Kids & 26"
Ladies and Gentlemen,

May I introduce you to the worlds slowest elevator, located in the Art and Architecture building of the University of Illinois at Chicago (my alma mater). You might be thinking: "Wow... those students have no respect for the building where they have classes..." Little do you realize that this masterpiece on the wall was probably done in only one trip from the basement level to the fifth floor!
