Title: Crazy Lines

Capture Date/Time: October 25 2004 11:47
Camera: Nikon D100
Lens: 12-24mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor
Focal Length: 22mm
Aperture/Shutter Speed: F/10 - 1/350sec
ISO: 200
Flash: None

This is the IBM building and its adjacent parking lot located right across from where the Sun Times Building is (which will soon be a "was"). The lines of these two buildings are so strong that optical clarity ended up being a necessity. The moire artifacts you see in the photo actually doesn't exist in the original photo at full resolution, which I had shot in RAW format with no in camera sharpening. I tried several different sharpening routines to the RAW file along with trying different resize interpolation methods in Photoshop but still couldnt get the downsized version to be as clean as the original. Regardless, I'm still really happy with this shot :)

Archie here, I just had to comment on my own photo because it looks so different here on the hi-res screens at work. I don't see the moire that I did on my LCD panels at home. How strange!
