One of the touristy spots I got to check out during my trip to the Philippines was Corregidor, It is a small rocky island about 48 kilometers west of Manila located at the entrance of Manila Bay. It was an island fortress where Filipino and American defenders held their ground against the invading Japanese forces during World War II. It was where Douglas MacArthur's famous words "I Shall Return" were spoken. This photo features one of the buildings left on the island in its original state after the war. Cine Corregidor was a movie theater. It was built during the pre-war period to cater to the entertainment needs of the personnel of the garrison as well as their families. Nothing much is left of the building except portions of its concrete walls, a stairway leading up to its upper balcony, and the concrete floor of what used to be its stage because the island was heavily bombed during the war.

Beautiful shot of the ruin. The narrow color range, terminating in that red around the base, is wonderful.
