I have a funny story about taking this one. I was walking along the lakeside with my tripod in one hand, my camera in the other. While walking in the grass to the path where I was going to setup for the shot, I slipped on a patch of snow which ended up being frozen solid into ice. I totally lost balance and all I could think of was to save my camera which was in my hand. So there I laid on the muddy grass with my arm extended straight up to the sky with my camera unharmed. I laughed hysterically for about 2 minutes about what just happened, took the photo, then went home to change my clothes :)

i must admit - it would seem as though, for this entry alone, being on dial up has proved a blessing. traditionally, the page loads from the top down, fumbling through the code and parsing it accordingly. before the image, came the title - and when you read 'muddy jeans' only to then watch a brown sky fade with depth to reveal a city beneath, you begin to wonder what the photographer had in mind when titling this entry. now, having read the post which coincides with the photo do i understand the true meaning - but y'know - it may have worked just as well without. well done, archie :)

Yes a true photographers instinct is to save the camera...and for shots like this it is worth it. Well done.
