Title: Designer's Insomnia

Taken at the annual UIC Year End Arts Show, this is Tatyana finally taking a few seconds from non-stop work for the last 48 hours of getting her projects on display and her PowerPoint presentation looping onto a projector. I attend the show every year, since its the only day where Art and Design students get to truly unwind after a semester of deadlines and putting up with administrative BS. It's always good to see the faces of friends I know that still attend UIC, as well as all the alumni from the school of Art and Design that come to hang out and get loaded :)

There is something about this photograph -- maybe it's the lighting? or the recognition of a LOT of hours spent on a project -- I don't know, but I love this!

In fact, the more I look at it, I'm going to make it my "favorite of the day" =)

This mannequin sure is life-like, Archie. Wait! It's a real person? And some people have the NERVE to say you take photos devoid of people. ;-) Seriously, this is quite a nice portrait.

I think Archie took a great picture, but I think what really makes it is her expression - its wonderfully complex.

I think sometimes when people look into a camera, they know they're sorta looking into the future. When people see this, her presentation will be over....its like the camera knows how it will go. She is hopeful :)
