Now here's a house that you shouldn't throw stones inside! The Farnsworth House is located in Plano, Illinois. It was built by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1951. If I had a zillion dollars, I would have a house built for me that looks exactly like this!

Built so long ago, yet looks so modern. Nice work.

I think I've see it from afar on the way to my grandparents house in Plano. If this is the same house, it looks really cool at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Great stuff. I like your images of the house better than those on the farnsworthhouse web site.

You know, you wouldn't need a zillion dollars to replicate it. The beauty of it is in its simplicity, hence its frugality in in materials and lack of complicated construction requirements. Now, of course, if you wanted Mies as the designer/architect...well, that *would* run you a zillion. ;)

By the way, there's a woman architect in STL (Rocio Romero) who has just the solution you're dreaming about. I'll not put her url here, for fear of it being perceived as spam. But check out her LV. Just your ticket. There are other examples out there, like the Glide House, too. Cheers!
